Traditionally with the induction of a new president all the past presidents line up to hand over the “Collar”. They are required to line up in order of the years they were President but there was some confusion about who went where.
DG Elect Don Ripper proudly inducted Ricardo Balancy to become our President.
Newly Past President Mark handed over the ‘reins’ the ‘certificate of incorporation’ and the framed Collar of our first 50 years.
President Ricardo was simply humbled by the trust and confidence that the members of this great Club have placed in him. He looks forward to continuing the great work of Past President Mark and to build on the foundation laid by our predecessors.
Established in 1961, the Rotary Club of Berwick has a rich history of direct engagement and strong connections with the Berwick and broader Casey community. In 2017-18 we will strive to "Make a Difference" by continuing to engage and connect with the community in ways that enable us to grow and strengthen our membership, and expand our networks.
“Making a difference” is the Rotary theme for 2017-18, and will guide the work of the 1.2 million Rotarians throughout the world.
Ricardo thanked his family and friends for their support. A special thank you was to Lyn and Ben Clissold. It was Merv Clissold who first introduced Ricardo to Rotary.
