MEETING REPORT - 9 AUGUST 2017
President Ricardo was introduced to the meeting by acting Sergeant Darius.
Pres Ricardo greeted all Rotarians and extended a special welcome to our guest speaker, Angelo Lambrinos who is the Project Director at Transurban, and working specifically on the Monash Freeway upgrade.

Ricardo extended a warm welcome to our international visitor Adam Hughes, President of the Rotary Club of Port Moresby, who as it turns out lives with his family Berwick when he is in Australia.

Visitors Cheryl Zuhlsdorff, Steve Marshall and David Cutler were also warmly welcomed. Both Cheryl and David are in the process of joining the club and all members are looking forward to inducting them in the very near future.

The Rotary Club of Cranbourne is celebrating their 50th Anniversary next Friday at the Settlers Run Golf and Country Club. Ricardo and Lisemay will be attending and have been tasked to convey the club’s best wishes to all Cranbourne Rotarians.

MONASH FREEWAY M1 - PROJECT INFORMATION
Chairman David Button introduced Angelo Lambrinos – Project Director for Transurban - to talk about the Monash Freeway upgrade which is happening right now.

Angelo thanked the Club for inviting him to talk about this project and
began with a video about the widening of Monash Freeway and the 44km upgrade that is happening between Chadstone and Pakenham. 30ks of additional lanes widening from 4 to 5 lanes between Eastlink and South Gippsland Freeway and 2 to 3 lanes from South Gippsland Freeway to Clyde Road.

Ramp signals will help control traffic and overhead and electronic signs and smart technology such as automatic incident detection will help to keep traffic moving.

Ramps that feed onto the Monash Freeway will be upgraded too.  Widening will take place on some of the ramps so they can operate better.  All the grass in the middle will be removed and an extra lane in both directions will take its place.

JOKER'S WILD

The Jackpot was $1,182.75  this week and we had a bit of fun.  David, a visitor drew the ticket of PP Gus Dominguez.

Gus won the Jackpot about 2 years ago and hoped to win it again but he managed to get a 6 - the Joker was not too far away.

For now, the Joker remains in the deck… and with less cards to choose from next week.  Someone has to find the Joker.

Joker's Wild is a fun session and members look forward to walking away with the jackpot each week!! Good luck all for next week.
