President's Ramblings
Hi all,

What a surprise guest speaker we had with Richard Garvey this week! The ask of Richard was to tell us about yourself and how you ended up as chairman of a cemetery trust. Well Richard had such an interesting back story. Growing up in Borneo and then Iran as his father was in oil production, he certainly didn't have the same childhood as the kids in Berwick.

Richard shared the improvements and new stages that are planned for the Berwick Cemetery to add more plots in, told us about the role of the trust and his involvement in the trust. A very interesting story.

Next Week
Start stretching, polish those shoes, and put the war paint on - It's Lawn Bowls Challenge time!!!
We will be meeting at Monbulk Bowls Club, ask around if you're wanting to carpool there. $36 to be paid to the bowls club directly for dinner and bowls.
Please RSVP by Friday 13 March as we need to get numbers to Monbulk.

Coming Up
Friday 20 March - Mock Interviews, Nossal High, from 9am-3pm, we are still needing many more helpers, please ask around if you know someone who might be able to assist. Please email Andrew if you can help out for part or the whole day. Lunch is provided.

SJOG Working Bee - 28 March
Don't forget to put in your diaries, the next working bee at St John of God Hospital will be held on Saturday 28 March. All hands on deck and Geoff will provide more details closer to the date.

Donations in Kind Request
DiK is collecting tools: wheelbarrows, shovels, rakes, hammers, blowers, forks, gardening and fencing equipment, electrical leads and other items suitable to help the bushfire affected communities clean up and regain their lives.

Items can be delivered to DiK on Tuesday and Thursday between 10-3, but if you are interested please let me know and we can organise a collection of items to be sent over together. For questions on what they would like contact whatsnew@rotarydik.org.

The Big Birthday Party
On Wednesday 29 April, we will be celebrating the club's 65th birthday (which is 3 May) and my 40th birthday (which is 30 April).
I would like to create a slideshow of photos of ALL members and partners at their 40th birthday! So between now and the end of April please email 1-3 photos of you when you were either at your 40th birthday party or when you were 40. Whether you're able to attend on the night or not, we would love to have members and partners photos included in the slideshow to be part of the night.

Thanks,
Jen
