The best thing about Rotary is the people in it, and this week we got to enjoy getting to know more about the wonderful Louise Jackel at the Pizza and Pottery night.
Master Potter Louise studied pottery making in Japan many years ago and now has her own pottery workshop and kiln at their place in Pakenham. members got to enjoy spinning pots and bowls, clay faces and hand making many other interesting items. I am personally excited to see my one of a kind bowl!
A huge thank you to Louise, Louise and Wendy for putting on a fun night and showing us the ropes on how to make pottery, it is certainly a favourite night for many.
Another big thank you to everyone that attended the St John of God working bee last weekend, keep an eye out in the local paper for a write up on the great work our club has done.
Tonight
Tonight we will be joined by some of the members of the Rotaract Club of Casey-Cardinia. We will hear from their members about the club and the projects they have been up to.
Coming Up
Deb ball practicies continue on Monday nights, please let Andrew and Michele know if you can assist. We will also be needing ten helpers on Wednesday 13 may and Tursday 14 May, please save one of these dates to assist. Andrew has reported both nights are at capacity so it is going to be a great event for our club.
Next week we will be joined by a friend of Trevor and Andrew's, Gavin Long. Gavin will be talking about living with Parkinson's disease and the benefits of exercise and physical movement and about the online support network he has recently started.
