Hello - for the last time!!
Wow I did it, I survived the year as President and what a wonderful experience it has been.
This week we finished the Rotary year with a bit of fun, pizza and beers at the 3806 Brewery Trivia Night. We started the evening with a talk from co-owner of the brewery Lachie Fyfe. Lachie and his mate Zac Pattison started brewing beer in their garage. Over time they grew their business and moved to Enterprise Avenue where they now sell beer to many restaurants and venues all over Melbourne. The trivia covered music, art, movies, and general knowledge. While we didn't come home with the win, we all had a fabulous night out.
On Saturday Geoff, Di, Funno, Wendy and Andrew went to St John of God to empty the rocks from the Chapel pond, preparing it to be waterproofed at a future date. I went down to Mount Martha to help load thirteen playgrounds harvested by our members from across the City of Casey to be sent to Bougainville. On Saturday night Di, Geoff, Funno, Jill and myself attended the Rotary Club of Casey's fundraiser for RizeUp. This highly successful night raised funds over $16,000 to assist families impacted by domestic violence.
We are well into Changeover season, this week we will be inducting Di as our new President, on 4th July the District will induct Emma Clarke from the Rotary Club of Emerald as our new DG and on Sunday 12 July, our very own Michele Somers will be inducted as the Inner Wheel Club of Berwick.
Thank you all for reading my ramblings this year, I hope you enjoyed it!
