A group of 13 members, family and friends, as well as 5 of our friends from the Casey Cardinia Rotaract Club, braved the elements and headed into the Winter Night Market at Queen Vic Market this week.
Gus, who knew exactly where to go once we ascended from the depths of State Library Station, became our city walking tour guide and lead us straight to the Winter Night Market entrance, which was right near where our reserved seating was waiting for us.
We had all worked up quite an appetite, so we spent the next few hours walking around the market looking at the stalls and the roving entertainment and enjoying some delicious street food, from all over the world, which we washed down with some liquid refreshments.
The market was buzzing with people, music and laughter, and once we had seen it all, and had had more than enough to eat, those of us who had caught the train in, headed back to the station for our return trip home. It was a great night and something different, which was a lot of fun.
This week we have Rhonda O’Connor sharing the Pilgrimage she recently led in WA. We also have another BBQ for the City of Casey’s next Tree Planting Day on 23rd August, so if you are able to assist with the BBQ, please let Secretary Andrew know.
The following Sunday, on 30th August, we have our own Tree Planting Day. Please make sure you book yourself in, as well as any friends and family members who will be coming to help, to ensure we have catered for the correct number of volunteers and also for insurance purposes.
