Posted by Graham Johnstone from an informative zoom meeting chaired by PDG Tim Moore on 4/11/2021. -A zoom meeting was held on 4/11/21 to discuss Rotary compliance with state laws on double vaccination against COVID 19 - A recording of the meeting will be available on District youtube. -Compliance is a global situation for everyone applying to employment or event attendance. . -Rotary must comply with state government health laws and require all volunteers to be double vaccinated and notified of such prior to the event. -Non vaccinated can attend meetings by zoom if it is available. -The District Insurance Officer is in process of writing a proforma guide. -Current laws may change if there is a change to the "State of Emergency" or state laws. -The Privacy Act applies to the gathering and holding of information, no member can inquire on privacy details of another member. -The Club Protection Officer will collect certificate numbers on behalf of the President and store them securely. -The certificate number is recorded to show that there has been no "ticking of the box" or reliance on the CPO memory. -A certificate may be sighted only and recorded as such but a member may be excluded from activities if certificate number is declined. -We need at all times to show to the government authorities that we have reasonably met their requirements including cleaning. Large fines may be imposed on a club, organiser or facility. It should be noted that recently , the police approached a club at a Bunnings BBQ for proof of compliance. |
