Wednesday 23rd September FOOTY NIGHT IS BACK! Time to proudly wear your footy gear (no matter which league and which team you barrack for) and come to a night to remember! Due to popular demand, our club’s ‘Footy Boys’ Trevor Watson, Adrian ‘Funno’ Funston and Terry Pollock, will be running a fun filled footy night for us at Lava Café. Bring your family and friends along, as there will be prizes to be won…but you’ll have to be in it to win it! Study up on footy trivia, find out who won the Brownlow, and by how much and join us for a fun night! No pies and hotdogs here, as you will still get to order your meal off the menu. |

October 14th - Domestic Violence Awareness - Nina Stanyer This week we welcome Nina Stanyer, a friend of our local Akoonah Ward Councillor, Scott Dowling, to our meeting. Nina, who is currently in Victoria presenting to a number of organisations on Domestic Violence, is an author, speaker and mentor whose work centres around self-trust, identity, choice and the restoration of internal authority. DV awareness is one of District Governor Emma’s focuses this Rotary year and a topic which, unfortunately, we do need to be more aware of, so that we have the tools to help those who may need our support.

Friday, 30 October 2026 - Sunday, 1 November 2026 - Rotary South Pacific Zone 8 Conference - Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) The Rotary South Pacific Regional Conference is the premier gathering of Rotary leaders, changemakers, and members across our region. It’s where vision meets action—where we explore the future of Rotary through the lens of People, Planet, and Peace, and connect with causes that reflect our shared values and areas of focus. This is more than a conference—it’s a regional movement. A chance to build momentum, strengthen partnerships, and shape Rotary’s impact in the years ahead. |

November 4th - Fallen Diggers Inc. - Dennis Frank This week, in the lead up to Remembrance Day, we will learn all about Fallen Diggers Inc, from current President, Dennis Frank. “Fallen Diggers is a non-for-profit organisation consisting of enthusiastic volunteers, dedicated to finding our missing WW1 and WW2 military personnel and affording them a dignified and honourable burial.” Thousands of Australian service members remain unaccounted for from past global conflicts. The group works to ensure that these forgotten soldiers do not remain nameless. Denis will share with us the work that Fallen Diggers do to bring peace and closure to the families of missing service men and women. |
